Canadian students have been very active in the past, organizing a wonderful conference in Vancouver, which Alex Rosen attended, working together with the NWIP, seeking contact with their US colleagues and running an installation of Target X in Vancouver on Hiroshima Day. Topics of interest to Canadian students are, amongst other things, the growing power of the pharmaceutical companies and the war in Iraq. Contact between physicians and students is excellent and the effect is growing membership and increased activity. Bringing students to Board meetings and introducing them to the International IPPNW early on has proven to be a successful way of fostering interest and ensuring continuity and should be taken up by other affiliates in due course.
